Iranian ‘Echo’ is going on screen at the Encounter for Cinefagos in Venezuela and Colombia.

The Encounter for Cinefagos (Festival de Cine-arte En La Frontera/ Film-Art Festival on the Border) on Venezuela-Colombia border has been screening Iranian short animation ‘Echo’.

Directed by Barzan Rostami, the 7-minute flick is among the competing titles at the 10th edition of the event being held in Colombian city of Cucuta and the Venezuelan city of San Cristobal.

‘Echo’ is about understanding and perception of wildlife and environmental abuse as well as its consequences on human race.

The film has been screened at a number of global events, including the Smaragdni eco film festival in Croatia, the R.E.D International Film Festival in Norway, the Snake Alley Festival of Film in the US, and the International Tour Film Festival in Italy.

The flick’s screening at the Southern Cone International Film Festival in Mexico brought it the Best Short Film award of the event.

Born in 2011, the bi-national Encounter for Cinefagos accepts experimental films.

This year’s edition of the festival was kicked off on September 21 and will wrap up on September 26.
