ifilm exclusive report on Sacred Defense Week

ifilm English TV has aired an exclusive report about movies related to the Iraq-Iran war on the occasion of the Sacred Defense Week.

ifilm has interviewed actors and directors Seyyed-Javad Hashemi and Ali Soleimani, producer Mohammad Khazaee, actor Reza Rouygari, director Masoud Dehnamaki, and film critic Kamal Pourkaveh.

The show presents cuts from some popular war-themed Iranian movies, including ‘Duel’ (2003) by Ahmad-Reza Darvish, ‘The Eagles’ (1984) by Samuel Khachikian, ‘Flight at Night’ (1986) by Rasoul Mollaqolipour, ‘The Outcasts’ (2007) by Dehnamaki, ‘Snorkel’ (2016) by Soleimani and Hadi Hajatmand, as well as ‘The Lost Strait’ (2017) by Bahram Tavakkoli.

It also reviews some movies on the war aftermath such as ‘From Karkheh to Rhine’ (1992) by Ebrahim Hatamikia and ‘The Outcasts 3’ (2011) by Dehnamaki.

The Sacred Defense Week is an Iranian annual commemoration of the 1980–1988 Iraq–Iran war.
