16th RIFF announces winners of 2 sections

The 16th edition of the Resistance International Film Festival (RIFF) in Iran has announced the winners of the Health Defenders and Festival of Festivals sections.

The closing ceremony of the first part of the gala was held at Tehran’s Sacred Defense Garden on late Sunday.

Festival of Festivals section:

Best Video Clip: ‘Holoul’ by Farid Farkhondeh-Kish

Best Animation: ‘Dark City’ by Amir Mehran

Best Short Fiction: ‘All Maryams’ by Ammar Khatti

Best Short Documentary: ‘A Letter from Damascus’ by Abbas Imanian

Best Feature-Length Documentary Films: ‘Women with Gun Powdered Earrings’ by Reza Farahmand

Cinema Section: ‘Survivor’ by Seifollah Daad

 Health Defenders section:

Motion Graphic: ‘Coronavirus’ by Pouya Raeesi

Video Clips: ‘One Day Again’ by Mohajer Tohid-Parast

Best Animation: ‘The Savior’ by Arjun Mukherjee from India

Best Short Fiction: ‘Last Meeting’ by Mohsen Mashreqi

Best Short Documentary: ‘In the Silence of Night’ by Amir-Hossein Mirsaberi

Coinciding with the Sacred Defense Week and covering the Health Defenders and Festival of Festivals sections, the first part of the event was held on September 21-27.

The next part, to be held on November 21-27, coinciding with “Basij” week, includes Main Competition section, Resistance Prominent Martyr - special section, Best Film Competition in Absolute Sense section, and Narrations of Pen - Scriptwriting Competition section.

The RIFF, one of the most prestigious international film festivals in Iran, is dedicated to productions on wars and the repercussions of armed conflicts in the world.

It also puts a spotlight on the resistance of the Palestinian people against the Zionist regime, Daesh and its terrorist attacks in the region, as well as the world’s tyrants and their backing of Daesh.
