‘Castle of Dreams’ picked as best film at Religion Today filmfest

Iranian movie ‘Castle of Dreams’ has won an award at the Religion Today Film Festival in Italy.

Iranian movie ‘Castle of Dreams’ has won an award at the Religion Today Film Festival in Italy.

Reza Mirkarimi’s successful flick grabbed the best film award at the 23rd edition of the event.

The film also won three nominations in various categories of the event, including Grand Prize in the Spirit of Faith, Best Feature Film and Best Soundtrack.

Having 29 international screenings, ‘Castle of Dreams’ has so far won 22 awards and nominations at various international film festivals in Spain, UK, United Arab Emirates, Italy, Bangladesh, Turkey, Czech Republic, China, Russia, Iraq, Canada and Georgia.

‘Castle of Dreams’ is about Jalal Moradi, a 42-year-old father of two, who kills a relative in an accident, but he was released after it was considered as an accidental killing without intent.

After getting out of prison, Jalal leaves his wife and kids and moves to another city.

When the mother of the kids dies, Jalal returns to his hometown, but he still does not want to be with the children.

The film stars Hamed Behdad and Zhila Shahi.

‘Castle of Dreams’ has also received two nominations for Best Actor and Best Screenplay at the Asian Film Awards, slated for October 14, 2020 in South Korea.

Since 1997, the Religion Today has been dedicated to promoting a culture of peace and dialogue between people.

The festival provides audience with a platform to watch different cultures, ideas and religious practices and beliefs.

The 23rd edition of the event was held on September 23-30, 2020.
