Palang Darreh Protected Area in Iran: Video

Let's watch how Iran has provided a livable environment for wildlife in the country.

The Palang Darreh Protected Area is one of the tourist attractions of Qom province in north-central Iran.

Palang Darreh Protected Area covers over 31,000 hectares of land in southwestern Qom. It is rich in diverse plants and animal species as rainfall rates in the natural reserve are higher than other regions in Qom.

The area is also home to 21 species of mammals -- including wolves, foxes, urials and leopards -- as well as 52 species of birds, 13 species of reptiles, and two species of amphibians.

Palang Darreh has been designated as a no-hunt zone since 1996. In 2009, it was inscribed on Iran’s list of protected areas.
