The 33rd ICFF in Iran is to premiere sequel to ‘Tornado’.

The 33rd edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth (ICFF) in Iran has scheduled to premiere the sequel to ‘Tornado’.

Produced, directed, written, and edited by Seyyed-Javad Hashemi, a synopsis of ‘Tornado 2’ reads, “A boy called Omid has been left alone on an unknown space island called Tiana. He doesn’t want to return because he has fallen in love with the king’s daughter, Shimba. On the other hand, the children have flown Tornado to save Omid. The inspector and the professor try to help Omid, Shimba, and the kids to return to the earth.”

The cast list of the movie includes Akbar Abdi, Kamran Tafti, Behnoush Bakhtiari, Arsalan Qasemi, Elnaz Habibi, Rastin Azizpour, Amir-Reza Ahmadi, Negar Nafez, Mohammad-Mehdi Irani, Abbas Jamshidifar, Amir Ronaqi, Farzaneh Zohrehvand, Hadi Najafi-Emami, and Mohsen Rostami.

The Public Relations Office of the 33rd ICFF reported that Hashemi talked about pursuing his career as a children filmmaker and stated, “I’ve always wanted to make films that appeal to children and children can relate to. So far, I feel that ‘The White Forehead’ trilogy and ‘Tornado’ have been well received by children.”

“I, first of all, pay attention to children’s taste and their viewpoints. I support the annual execution of the Children Film Festival since it motivates children cinema activists. I hope that they will support the screening of those films that have been inspired by children and families’ outlooks,” the director added.

Established in 1982, the ICFF is an annual film festival held in the historic city of Isfahan, Iran.

A wide range of quality features, short and animation films from all around the world will be displayed at the event.

Additionally, daily workshops, panels, and lectures by well-known Iranian and International cinematic figures are held at the event.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak and based on a multimedia agreement made by Iranian Cinema Organization, Farabi Cinematic Foundation, and Isfahan Municipality, this edition of the festival will be held online on October 18-23, 2020.
