‘American Buffalo’ to go on stage in Tehran City Theater

David Mamet’s play ‘American Buffalo’ has been scheduled to go on stage at City Theater in Tehran on May 15.

It’s the first time that the play  ‘American Buffalo’ written by David Mamet goes on stage in Iran.

Directed by Siamak Zeinoddini the play will go on stage on May 15. It will be on stage for 11 days.

 Zeinoddini also plays a role in the play. Yeganeh Rajabi, Farzad Ayati, Ahmad Matoori, Akram Samani and Hassan Hemmati are other actors in the play.

Since its emergence in 1975, ‘American Buffalo’ has attracted the attention of many critics and has won several awards.

The story happens during one long day in a run–down junk shop where three men of great ambition and low morals plan to steal customer’s valuable coin collection. The story depicts the fact that how the three men want to manipulate each other. ‘American Buffalo’ has been recognized as a modern masterpiece.
