‘Orange Days’ competing at MESA Film Festival

‘Orange Days’ is on screen at the Middle East Studies Association of North America (MESA) Film Festival in the US.

The 37th edition of the MESA Film Festival, which is hosting Arash Lahouti's feature film, kicked off on October 10 and will reach the end on October 14.

‘The Warden’ by Nima Javidi, ‘When the Moon Was Full’ by Narges Abyar, ‘The Thin Red Line’ by Farzad Khoshdast, ‘The Unseen’ directed by Behzad Nalbandi and ‘Mouth Harp in Minor Key’ by Maryam Sepehri are also Iranian attendees at the MESA fest.

The 102-minute movie tells the story of Aban, the only female contractor in the cutthroat and male-dominated orange harvesting industry, who enters a competition to win a large contract. Her efforts remain futile while anyone involved in her story tries to fail her.

Hediyeh Tehrani, Ali Mosaffa, Mehran Ahmadi, Alireza Ostadi, Zhila Shahi, Sadaf Asgari, Roya Hosseini, Amin Golestaneh, Akram Alamdar, and Leili Farhadpour are among the cast members of the flick.

‘Orange Days’ has gone on screen at some global events, including the 14th Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland, the 18th Calgary Int’l Film Festival, the 43rd Toronto Int’l Film Festival in Canada, the 42nd São Paulo Int’l Film Festival in Brazil and the 2018 Torun Int’l Film Festival in Poland.

‘Orange Days’ brought its actress Tehrani the Best Actress award at the 2018 CineIran Festival in Canada, a special mention at the 18th Imagineindia Film Festival in Spain as well as best film award at the 19th Yari Iranian Film Festival in Sweden and won three awards at the 67th Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival in Germany.

The MESA fosters the study of the Middle East and encourages public understanding of the region and its people.
