Iranian short ‘Elders’ to go to Italian fest

Iran’s ‘Elders’ is to compete at the 2020 Sguardi Altrove filmfest in Italy.

Iranian short flick ‘Elders’ has been selected to compete at the 27th edition of the Sguardi Altrove Film Festival (SAFF) in Italy.

Co-directed by Parisa Sedaee-Azar and Ramin Farzaneh, ‘Elders’ is about a 70-year-old man, named Kazem, who plans to run away from a nursing home.

The actors of the short flick are Kazem Hashemzadeh, Malakeh Fathi, and Mahsa Sedaee-Azar.

The short flick has previously won the Diploma of the Audiences Sympathy at the 10th Baku International Short Film Festival in Azerbaijan and the Special Jury Prize at the 3rd International Siirt Short Film Festival in Turkey.

The SAFF aims to screen films that reflect on the current issues and the issues of the female world in particular.

The festival will take place on October 23-31 on a digital platform, but will also be accompanied by some days with the audiences and enthusiasts in presence.
