Iranian short ‘Sonia’ to compete at US fest

Iranian short flick ‘Sonia’ has been selected to compete at the 2nd edition of the Frenzy Short Film Festival (FSFF) in the US.

Directed by Javad Safavi and produced by Arezou Zargar, the film narrates the story of a young journalist named Mina, who is jobless and has to work for a yellow paper for making a living.

She has to write a report on a subject that is against her beliefs.

The bilingual English/Spanish FSFF is a competitive festival hosting films that focus on social and psychological vulnerabilities of individuals and communities.

The festival aims to increase awareness about mental health issues, promote works with the subject of mental health issues, and to engage the audience.

The 2020 edition of the event is slated for November 16-21.
