Iranian ‘Driving Lessons’ competing in Morocco

Iranian ‘Driving Lessons’ is competing at the Rabat Int’l Author Film Festival in Morocco.

Iranian short flick ‘Driving Lessons’ has been competing at the 25th edition of the Rabat International Author Film Festival (FICAR) in Morocco.

Directed by Marzieh Riahi, ‘Driving Lessons’ is about a woman named Bahareh who has a driving test to pass.

She has to have her traditional chauvinistic husband accompany her during driving lessons so that she and her instructor are not alone together.

The film’s cast members include Linda Kiani, Alireza Sanifar, Salar Khamseh, and Sanaz Mesbah.

Riahi’s film has previously grabbed more than ten international awards, some of which are Best Short Narrative award at the Through Women’s Eyes International Film Festival in the US, jury’s special award at the Film Festival for Women's Rights in South Korea, and Best Long Narrative award at the Annual Big Muddy Film Festival in the US.

The Rabat International Author Film Festival is dedicated to the Author cinema.

It is meant for films that have a message to humanity in all of its forms.

The 25th edition of the FICAR is taking place online on October 23-31.
