Iran’s RIFF to pay tribute to late reporter Mohsen Khazaei

Iran’s Resistance Int'l Film Festival is to pay tribute to the journalist, Mohsen Khazaei, who was martyred while covering the conflict in Syria.

Iran’s Resistance International Film Festival (RIFF) is set to pay tribute to the journalist, Mohsen Khazaei, who was martyred while covering the conflict in Syria about four years ago.

Khazaei will be honored during the opening ceremony of the second phase of the 16th edition of RIFF next month due to his efforts in covering the stories in conflict zones such as Syria and Iraq and reporting truthful facts about the axis of resistance.

Khazaei, who worked for the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), was killed while covering the fighting between Syrian government forces and the foreign-backed Takfiri militants in the city of Aleppo on November 12, 2016.

The 16th edition of the RIFF takes place on two different dates. Some of its sections were held on September 21-27, coinciding with the Sacred Defense Week which marks the anniversary of the start of Iraq's imposed war on Iran in the 1980s.

The other sections will be held on November 21-27, coinciding with the “Basij” week.

The RIFF, one of the most prestigious international film festivals in Iran, is dedicated to productions on wars and the repercussions of armed conflicts in the world.

It also puts a spotlight on the resistance of the Palestinian people against the Zionist regime, Daesh and their terrorist attacks in the region, and the world’s tyrants and their backing of Daesh.
