'Setin' nominated for award at HECare Film Festival in Canada

‘Setin’ wins nomination at the 2020 HECare Film Festival in Canada.

Iranian short film ‘Setin’ has won a nomination at the HECare Film Festival (Human Environment Care Film Festival HECFF) in Canada.

Asghar Abbasi’s short film, with a theme on drug addiction and family issues, has been nominated for the best movie award at the 2020 edition of the Canadian event, which kicked off on November 5 and will announced the winners on November 9.

'Setin' is about an old love and a deep divide within a family. Where love overcomes the gap and prevents a separation. However, drugs can topple every home.

Abbasi has made more than 20 documentaries and short films; and ‘Setin’ is the director’s debut film which brought him multiple awards at some domestic film festivals.

The short film has also taken part at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) in Nigeria, the 5th Make Art Not War festival (MANW) in the US, the 2020 BeBop Channel Content Festival in the US

The HECare Film Festival (HECFF) helps to create a platform for filmmakers to be seen and get them the industry exposure.

The HECFF has been devoted exclusively to the exploration of human-environment care, human rights issues, environment protection, with a special section this year (CoronaVirus and New World).
