Directed and produced by Hazhir Asadi, the 7-minute animation shows two tribes that engage in a tug-of-war to possess the sun and moon.
Neither side can defeat the other. Their conflict wreaks havoc on the earth’s climate.
An eventual ceasefire brings temporary stability and harmony until unexpected events renew the cycle of conflict and destruction.
It is a film about the futility of war and the folly of human efforts to dominate nature.
‘The Rotation’ has so far gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Animasyros Festival in Greece and the Girona Film Festival in Spain.
The Arpa IFF hosts filmmakers with different backgrounds. It provides a platform for filmmakers, musicians and artists who focus on the subjects with social and cultural importance.
Slated for November 12-22, 2020, the festival is currently underway online.
