Iranian short ‘The War Within’ to vie in Italy

Iranian short flick ‘The War Within’ has been selected to compete at the 74th edition of the Salerno International Film Festival in Italy.

Directed by Javid Farahani, the short film focuses on themes such as capitalism, currency, dollar, the imperialism of World Bank’s new system, and bourgeoisie.

The Salerno filmfest will be the first international experience of Farahani’s short film.

Also written by Farahani, the cast list of ‘The War Within’ includes Farhad Najafi and Shima Khosh-Eqbal.

The director’s previous film titled ‘Under the Blade’ took part in more than 50 international festivals.

Born in 1945, the Salerno festival aims to promote culture through cinema.

Feature films, short films, cartoons, and fictions are presented to compete at the festival.

The 2020 edition of the event is slated for November 30-December 5.
