Watch ifilm exclusive on Iranian film ‘The Blindspot’ directed by Mehdi Golestaneh, starring Mohsen Kiayee, Niki Mozafari, Mohammad-Reza Foroutan and Hanieh Tavassoli.
Below are the highlights of the report.
ifilm: Mohsen Kiayee usually takes roles that are warmly welcomed by the audiences. The role he has taken in this movie is of no exception.
Kiayee: Anyhow, the role that I’ve taken had some features of a comedy; I’d better say it was funnier than the rest of the roles.
I myself like to make roles funnier and the role turned out to be the one you see after I talked to the director.
Unlike what it seems to be, it’s not a movie about betrayal. Considering the storyline, I think it’s more about upbringing, the kids, and the relationship between parents and children. I think this is what the audience will like about the film.
In general, the role I took was Mohammad-Reza Foroutan’s brother. He has some issues that you’ll find out about as the movie moves forward.
ifilm: The question is, why should be go and watch the [film]?
Kiayee: I think all the movies that hit the silver screens should be seen. All the feature films.
Mozafari: The main reason is that I think every one of us, I for one, like to think deeply about our own character, to know ourselves better psychologically, to think about how we would react in a critical situation whether in the family, the work place or our relationships with our friends. You know, it helps a lot.
Kiayee: [The film] revolves around a social issue; it’s about people, human relationships among family members. This is what we deal with every day in our lives.
I think it’s worth seeing because we can see what happens in the private lives of a family which seems very happy at first.
