Iranian short film ‘The Other’ has won award at the New Jersey Indian & International Film Festival in the US.

Co-directed by Ako Zandkarimi and Saman Hosseinpour grabbed best short film award at the 2020 edition of the event.

The 9-minute ‘The Other’ follows the story of a man who is left with a daughter from his recently deceased wife. It gets all nasty when he suspects that his daughter might belong to some other man who his wife had an affair with.

In November, ‘The Other’ was screened at the 39th Munich International Festival of Film Schools and the 11th Winchester Film Festival (WFF) in the UK.

The flick is the winner of the best director award from the 5th French Lyon Young Film Festival as well as the Grand Prix of the Silk Road section of the 2020 Cannes International Independent Film Festival (CIIFF) in France.

New Jersey Indian & International Film Festival (NJIIFF) aims to reach out to all American, Indian, South Asian Community through Films. The festival gives Local & International Film Makers a platform to showcase their films, internationally.

NJIIFF also aims to create a distribution platform for Independent films makers in collaboration with different distributing agencies including online distribution.

The third edition of the event was held on October 2020.
