Ali Asghar Shahbazi, the Iranian actor who played the role of the father with Alzheimer's disease in the movie ‘A Separation’, passed away earlier this week.

In the attached video, you can watch an iconic scene featuring the late actor in the Oscar-winning film.

The 98-year-old actor died of cardiac arrest on Sunday. He was laid to rest on Monday in the capital, Tehran.

Shahbazi made his acting debut in the 2007 film ‘Under the Peach Tree’.

He also took part in the 2011 film ‘A Separation’ by Asghar Farhadi.

The movie is about a married couple who argue over living abroad.

The husband, Nader, wants to stay in Iran and take care of his father who has Alzheimer's disease, while his wife, Simin, is determined to get a divorce and leave the country with their daughter.

In one of the most impressive scenes in 'A Separation', the male lead is helping his ill father take a shower and suddenly breaks out in tears after a few seconds.

The film won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2012. It also received tens of awards at other international festivals across the world.

‘A Separation’ is starring Leila Hatami and Peyman Maadi.
