Festival Angaelica to host some Iran shorts

Lineup of Iranian shorts is to vie at the Festival Angaelica in the US.

A lineup of Iranian short flicks has been selected to be shown at the Festival Angaelica in the US.

Among the short works to go on screen at the 12 edition of the US event is ‘This Too, Shall Pass’ directed by Parisa Zandbaf. The 5-minute flick is a co-production of Iran and the Netherlands.

The film is about ancient Iranian poetry and philosophy. It depicts the idea that all the things that happen will eventually pass by. All of us will constantly experience the instability of the events and emotions.

The 14-minute ‘Sum of Details’ by Mohammad Hassani is another title on the list. It is about the frequency of all life events that a person experiences.

The list goes on with Javid Sobhani’s 8-minute short flick, ‘Lullaby’. This one has already been screened at various global film events, including the Seattle Film Summit in the US.

Hamidreza Khoshbazan’s ‘Cutstein’ will also be among the contestants at the US film event. Earlier this November, the 11-minute short flick took part in the TweetFest film festival in the UK.

The Festival Angaelica, which will be held on December 21-30, 2020, provides an environment for the emerging artists to interact. The attendees have the chance to connect and exchange experiences.
