The Independent Horror Movie Awards in the US honors 2 short films from Iran.

The Independent Horror Movie Awards in the US has honored two short films from Iran.

Local media reported that Iranian short animation ‘I’m not Alice but Here is Wonderland’ won the gala’s gold medal while ‘Unfinished Story’ received the bronze.

Made by Mahdiyeh Sadadat Ahmadi-Soleimani, ‘I’m not Alice but Here is Wonderland’ is about a little girl who loses her family to war. The only thing that saves the girl is her drawings.

Before the bomb falls and takes away her family, she sits by the window and finds out that the people on the other side of the window are like wild animals. Now that she is alone,  her imagination is at her disposal to help.

The girl, who is struggling with the problems of her time, finally surrendered to the birds that she had painted.

The short animation has already been screened at a number of global events, including the Love International Film Festival in the US, where it won the Best Animation film award.

The Five Continents International Film Festival in Venezuela honored the short animation with best director and best screenplay awards and the Queen Palm International Film Festival in the US presented the silver prize of Best Short – Animation category to ‘I’m not Alice but Here is Wonderland’.

Directed by Javad Nourian, ‘Unfinished Story’ is about a scenarist who finishes his scenario, but the appearance of a new character changes everything.
