Yalda Night, which falls this year on Sunday, marks the arrival of winter in the country and the longest night of the year.
Iranians observe the ancient cultural festival by visiting the elders and eating dry nuts and fruits such as pomegranates and watermelons.
This year, people are advised to stay home and avoid gatherings with people outside their households to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Still, the Yalda Night mood is all around and the smell of the festival is in the air.
