Female artists play vital role in Resistance theater festival

Iranian female directors and cineastes have had a strong role at this year’s edition of the Resistance International Theater Festival in Iran.

16 female directors alongside a number of writers and actresses have been present at the 17th edition of the event.

Iranian directors have presented their works in various forms including stage, street, student and children and young adults shows.

Directors Leili Aaj, Maryam Mansouri and Yalda Montazeri have competed at the main stage theater section of this year’s festival.

Also 14 female writers from 55 selected works have presented the scripts in various sections.

Mahsa Talebi, Fatemeh Allah-yarnejad, Marjan Pourhossein, Maral Izadbakhsh, Roghaye Valipourm Fatemeh Radmanesh, Delaram Torki, Atieh Javid, Mojgan Khaleghi, Sara Yadani and Narges Saberi are the directors that have also grabbed awards at the 16th edition of the event.

The 17th edition of the Resistance International Theater Festival was held on November 21- December 5, 2020.
