Two Iranian shorts win awards at Science filmfest

Int’l Science Festival of India awards two Iranian short films.

The India International Science Festival (IISF) has awarded two Iranian short films.

Ashkan Hatami’s short film on COVID-19 has grabbed the Best Short Film award. Besides, ‘Keep Your Smile’ directed by Hassan Mokhtari succeeded to take home the Jury Award of the 6th edition of the Indian event.

‘Night Nurse’ is the story of a nurse at the coronavirus patients’ ward in a hospital. She has left her daughter at home to go take care of the COVID-19 patients. She later contracts the disease herself and passes away.

The short has recently received the best film award at the Hak-is International Short Film Festival in Turkey.

Launched in 2015, the IISF aims to celebrate Science and Technology. According to the festival’s official website, “it aims to demonstrate how science could lead India towards a developed nation within a short span of time”.

The event which intended to inspire interest and make learning more satisfying was held on December 22-25.
