The lyrics titled ‘Friend of the Moon’:

You’re still standing like mountain in our heart and land

You’ve been and still are chieftain of hearts

However grounded, I’m hopeful to you O’ sky

I’m left behind, slow down O’ caravaneer

Your cut hand is dedicated to water-bearer (Hazrat Abbas)

Martyrdom certificate of lovers will be issued tonight

Your pain’s treatment is Karbala, your heart calls O’ Hussein (AS)

Your hand is finally cut, dedicated to blood of God, Hussein (AS)

You’re serenity of restless hearts and commander of bravery field

You’re happy friend of the moon and martyr before martyrdom

You’re successor of God’s lion (Imam Ali (AS))

Your companions’ hearts are bravery field

You won God-seeking hearts, your soldiers form troop of love

Your signet ring ends darkness and fires Satan’s nest

With you and your ring of bravery, homeland turned into Solomon’s Kingdom

Your blood leads to uproar, it awakens spirit of Hussein (AS)

You’ll return the day that the savior will return

The savior will dispatch a troop from Karbala to Quds

The troop gets full of God, it awakens spirit of Hussein (AS)

Name of Hussein (AS) treats pain, it awakens spirit of Hussein (AS)

General Soleimani, who was the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), was assassinated along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), as well as eight others during a US drone strike at Baghdad’s international airport on January 3, 2020.
