‘The Heavy Shadows of the Crow’ wins at Route 66 Film Festival

Best Experimental Film Award of the 19th Route 66 American Short Film Festival went to ‘The Heavy Shadows of the Crow’.

The Best Experimental Film Award of the 19th Route 66 American Short Film Festival has gone to Iranian ‘The Heavy Shadows of the Crow’.

The 2020 Route 66 International Film Festival focusing on Human Rights was held this year in Springfield, Illinois, in the US, and the short film ‘The Heavy Shadows of the Crow’ by Behnam Asadollahi was named the Best Experimental Film of the event.

The film is about war and peace. It shows five men who grow out of the soil in a flat desert. The men are led by a crow while some unexpected incidents happen.

The latest accolade bagged by Asadollahi’s flick is the special award of the 6th Corto e a Capto - Premio Mario Puzo Film Festival in Italy and a special mention from the jury of the 24th Avanca Film Festival in Portugal.

The film has already been screened at numerous national and international film festivals, including Tehran Short Film Festival, the 10th Baku Int’l Short Film Festival in Azerbaijan, the 13th FILMSAAZ Film Festival in India as well as the 2020 Gatffest Film Festival (formerly the Greater August Town Film Festival) in Jamaica.

The Route 66 Film Festival is an annual film festival that takes place on the first weekend of November.

The festival is located in Springfield, IL and first began in November 2002.
