Iranian-Chinese animation ‘The Gools’ to go on screen in China

‘The Gools’ animation receives screening permit in China.

Co-produced by Iran and China, ‘The Gools’ has received screening permit in China.

Directed by Iranian animator Farzad Dalvand and known by the title ‘Kung Fu Gools’ in China, the animation is planned to be screened in Chinese movie theaters until August 2021.

The animation is a free adaptation of the Iranian tale ‘Shangoul and Mangoul’.

The synopsis for the animation reads “three goats start an adventure for establishing and keeping peace among animals”.

Wang, the Chinese director of the animation who was mostly responsible for localization of the work, said “cooperation with the Iranian team was really interesting. The Iranian screenplay attracted my attention and I decided to work with the Iranian team. I hope Chinese audience welcomes the animation”.

Jin Yang, the producer of the animation, expects the animation to sell more than 20 million dollars in china.

The animation also received the screening permit in the US and will go on screen until February 2021.
