Sunshine filmfest to host Iran’s ‘Baraka, the Cow’

Iranian ‘Baraka, The Cow’ is to screen at Sunshine Short filmfest in Australia.

Iranian short film ‘Baraka, The Cow’ is set to screen at the Sunshine Short Film Festival (SSFF) in Australia.

Directed by Komeil Soheili, the short will be among the competition titles at the 8th edition of the Australian event.

The film will be both screened online and during the physical launching ceremony of the SSFF, which this year is held hybrid due to the pandemic.

The Gala Launch will be on February 11th and since then the online screenings will run till February 20.

‘Baraka, the Cow’ is about an old man who is in love with his cow. The cow knows about its owner’s love.

The film is the winners of Filmaka's 6th Documentary competition. It also took part in the 5th Realtime International Film Festival (RTF) in Nigeria. 

Soheili is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and producer with extensive experience on movies. His work has appeared on BBC, National Geographic and VPRO.

This year edition of the SSFF themes on comedy which encourages film directors to be more pessimistic and see the funny side of the things in their filmmaking endeavors.
