Iran director’s captured scenes from Islamic Revolution in 1979

Iranian director Masoud Kimiaee has captured real scenes from the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Iranian director Masoud Kimiaee has recorded real scenes captured by himself from the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.

In 1979, the director went to the street to record real scenes at the height of demonstrations against the deposed Iranian dictator king, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

The documentary runs for 30 minutes and the director used almost five minutes from the captured scenes in one of his movies.

Director Kimiaee is one of the most influential filmmakers in Iran. Some of the awards and nominations he has earned for his artistic efforts include:

1. Best Scenic and Costume Design nomination for ‘Soltan’ (1996) at Iran Cinema Celebration

 2. Best Director Crystal Simorgh nomination for ‘Objection’ (1999) at Fajr International Film Festival

 3. Gold Hugo nomination for ‘Snake Fang’ at Chicago International Film Festival

 4. Best Film Crystal Simorgh and Critics’ Award for ‘Crime’ (2010) at Fajr International Film Festival.

5. Jury’s Special Award for ‘Snake Fang’ (1989) at Montreal International Film Festival.
