'Miss Maple' stories by Agatha Christie are to be adapted into a contemporary TV work for South Korean audience, media reports.
The new TV production will be created by South Korea’s Good Production Co. in cooperation with Agatha Christie Ltd.
The TV series will bring Christie's classic character, Jane Marple, to the small screen, which will be rebranded as Miss Ma and set in a contemporary Asian setting.
The 16-episode series, which will be directed by Yun-ho Yang and produced by Jay Yoon, is to include some of South Korea's top broadcasting talent.
"We will see one of the UK's most iconic heroines adapted for the South Korean market," said Amanda Groom, managing director of The Bridge in South Korea, who initiated the deal.
Jane Marple, also called Miss Marple, is a fictional character appearing in Agatha Christie's crime novels and short stories.
