Iran’s ‘The Last Embrace’ to go on Bangladeshi screen

Iran’s ‘The Last Embrace’ is to go on screen at the Int’l Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh.

Iranian short flick ‘The Last Embrace’ has been scheduled to go on screen at the 2021 edition of the International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh.

Directed by Saman Hosseinpour, the 4-minute flick is about a little girl who wants to show her drawing to her family, but everybody is busy with their cell phones.

She goes to her grandpa who has just passed away a few minutes ago without anybody noticing it.

The film has taken part in a number of global events, including the Porto7-Oporto International Short Film Festival in Portugal, the East Northeast International Film Festival in the US, the Seoul International Extreme-Short Film Festival in South Korea, the DEFY Film Festival in the US, and the Manifesto Film Festival in the Netherlands.

It has won some awards, including the Best Narrative Short award at the Earth Day Film Festival in the US and the Best Screenplay Award at the Gosh! Film Festival in France.

The International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh is an annual week-long film festival held countrywide, which showcases full-length features, shorts, experimental films made for and by children from around the world.

Launched in 2008, the festival is one of the biggest film events in Bangladesh and also the only international film festival for children and young adults of the country.

The 2021 edition of the event is slated for January 30-February 5.
