The 10-minute flick is adapted from a short story by avant-garde playwright, Eugene Ionesco, and directed and produced by Tiyam Yabandeh.
The flick has gone on screen at some global events, including the Ojai Film Festival in the US.
“An unhappy couple fights constantly, with far-reaching consequences for their children, their neighbors and society at large. Filmed entirely without dialogue, this innovative film relies on sound effects and the visually impactful metaphor of soup to convey the corrosive effects of unresolved anger,” the Ojai website wrote on the story of ‘Soup’.
The director has tried to deliver a different perspective of the argument between couples and their influences on the environment.
The sound effects and a visual language to transform inner and subjective violence of arguments into a visual experience are the main elements of the film.
Nader Fallah and Sogol Ghalatian are the cast members of ‘Soup’.
