Canadian GbeckFF to host ‘This Side, Other Side’

The Gbeck Future Film Festival (GbeckFF) in Canada has scheduled to screen Iranian short animation ‘This Side, Other Side’.

Directed by Lida Fazli, the 9-minute film will be shown at the Animation section of the 4th edition of the fest to be held in Prince Edward Island.

‘This Side, Other Side’ has the mission of peace seeking and disregard for war.

The short title shows how the children of two opposite sides of a border cherish each others’ company, regardless of the fact that their countries are burning in the fire of a war that the adults have brought upon them.

The film has already been screened at various global events, including the Animage International film festival in Brazil, the Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth in India, the ifva Awards in China, and the Termeh Iranian Cultural Festival in Germany.

According to the GbeckFF website, “It is a competition of original films created by filmmakers from around the world, designed to discover and support young filmmakers.

The short list for the festival will be released in February 2021, and the winners will be announced in April.
