It is among a handful of magnificent churches that still stands in a glorious manner keeping the magnificent history of Armenia in Iran's cultural capital.
The church is said to be made during the Safavid era when Shah Abbas I transported a colony of Armenian from the town of Julfa in Iran’s northern border to the suburb of Isfahan on the Southern bank of the Zayandeh Rud river. They gradually took up residence in Isfahan and settled into their new home.
