Internationally-renowned Iranian actor Shahab Hosseini is most likely to grab another global accolade from the Jussi Awards.
Oscar-winning ‘The Salesman’’s main actor has most recently won the Best Actor nom for his performance in ‘Any Day Now’ at Jussi Awards, Finland's premier film industry event.
The flick is directed by Hamy Ramezan, an Iranian-Finnish film director and screenwriter. The title won 5 other nominations at the event.
The debut feature of Ramezan follows a family seeking asylum in Finland, and Shahab Hosseini leads the cast. The story is loosely based on the childhood experiences of the director.
The Jussi Gala is held in the autumn of 2021 with the awards to be given to the best domestic films of 2020 hailing from Finland.
