The 39th edition of the Fadjr Theater Festival announces winners.

The 39th edition of the Fadjr Theater Festival (FTF) has announced the winners.

Winners of the 39th FTF were honored last Tuesday at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed-Abbas Salehi and some of the cast and crew members of the nominated plays attended the closing ceremony.

‘Bob Bara’ directed by Nima Imanzadeh, from the northwestern Iranian city of Sanandaj, won the grand prix of the official competition and the best director award.

The best actress and actor awards respectively went to Ayeh Kianpour and Soroush Taheri for their roles in ‘Sagdo’ (hard work).

Mohammad Charmshir received the best playwright award for the same play and the special jury award was presented to ‘Jaleh Ambush’ by Hamed Mokammeli.

In the Soldier of the Revolution section, the best actress and actor awards respectively went to Najmeh Mehrabi-Khouzani and Pouya Emami for their roles in ‘Life with the Taste of Gunpowder’ by Mojtaba Khalili.

‘General’ brought the best director award to Saeed Badini and also received the award for the best play in the Soldier of the Revolution section.

‘Roof Battle’ brought the best director award to Mehdi Ziaeean and the best actor award to Mohammad-Hadi Ataee.

The 39th FTF honored Arman Mirzaeem for his powerful performance in the play ‘Bodies’ directed by Alireza Maroufi.

Later the ceremony paid tribute to the nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who was assassinated in a terrorist attack last November, by screening a video depicting his sons speaking about their father’s interest in Iranian art and music.

Photographer Akhtar Tajik, critic Homayoun Aliabadi, and actors Bahram Ebrahimi and Jamshid Davarpanah were honored with lifetime achievement awards.

A total of 28 plays were selected for the national competition section of the 39th FTF.

This year, 12 plays were picked for the Soldier of the Revolution section dedicated to street theater.

The 2021 edition of the FTF wrapped on February 9.
