Directed by Behtash Sanaeeha and Maryam Moghaddam, the movie will make its debut screening at the 2021 Berlinale. This year’s edition of Berlinale will take place in two parts; an industry-focused, online-only event running March 1-5, and a Summer Special event featuring physical screenings, planned for June 9-20.
‘A Ballad for the White Cow’ will compete with films by the world’s greatest directors.
Totem Films, a Paris-based international sales and co-production company, has made the teaser for Sanaeeha’s film.
Made in two languages of Persian and French, ‘Ballad of a White Cow’ narrates the story a young woman named Mina who lives alone with her deaf child while her husband had been executed for a murder charge a year ago.
Mina tries to get her life together, take good care of her child and make both ends meet. However, her life gets more sorrowful when she finds out that her husband was innocent.
The film features Moghaddam and Sanaeeha as well as Pouriya Rahimi-Sam in the lead roles.
