Directed by Majid Majidi, the movie portrays the life of Islam’s Holy Prophet and narrates the early years of his prophecy in Mecca. This is the first part of a trilogy which seems to cover the entire life of the Prophet.
A number of internationally-acclaimed professionals, including Academy Award winning visual effects supervisor and filmmaker, Scott E. Anderson, and three-time Oscar-winning Italian director of photography, Vittorio Storaro, collaborated in the making of the film.
The movie attracted a large number of audiences during its screening in Iranian cinemas and abroad, including in Russia, Turkey, Iraq, Azerbaijan, and so on.
The screenplay of the film, which is the biggest-budget production in Iranian cinema, was co-written by Majidi and Kambuzia Partovi.
