Fajr Visual Arts Fest holds closing ceremony

Fajr Festival of Visual Arts in Iran holds the closing ceremony for its 13th edition.

Fajr Festival of Visual Arts in Iran has held the closing ceremony for its 13th edition, announcing winners.

The curtain came down on the 13th Fajr Visual Arts Festival at the Iranian Academy of the Arts in Tehran on Thursday.

Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Seyyed Abbas Salehi, and his deputy Mojtaba Hosseini were among the attendees of the event.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Salehi noted that some forms of visual arts have historical roots in Iran, while other forms have been added in modern times.

The Iranian minister also said that Iran is witnessing a “significant growth in the field of visual arts both in terms of geography and in terms of the age of the artists”.

The Fajr festivals, including visual arts, film, music, and theatre events, coincide with the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
