36th Fajr Music Festival announces winners

The 36th edition of the Fajr Music Festival (FMF) has announced the winners of different categories.

Honoring the winners, the closing ceremony of the gala was held at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall in presence of a limited number of participants, including the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed-Abbas Salehi, Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Seyyed-Mojtaba Hosseini, and several musicians.

The album of ‘Ehsraq’ by Kaveh Mirhosseini received the Barbad Award in the Classical Music Composition category.

The Barbad Awards of the Regional Music Performance category went to Hamzeh Moqaddam for the album of ‘Black Hamzeh’ and singer Abolhassan Khoshrou.

In the Music without Vocals section, Houshmand Ebadi won the Barbad Award for the album of ‘Nayi’, and Bahman Faryadras received the award in the Vocal Music Composition section for ‘Flight and Song’.

The Barbad Award in the Instrumental Music category was presented to Mojtaba Asgari for the album of ‘Ashiran’.

The Barbad Award for best composition went to Damahi Ensemble for their latest album titled ‘Go Hunting in Me’.

The award for the best pop singer was given to Pouya Kolahi for his album titled ‘Peacock Feather Closed’.

In the Orchestral Music without Vocals category, Reza Vaali won the Barbad Award for the album of ‘Sorna’.

In the Orchestral Music with Vocals category, Amir Pourkhalaji received the Barbad Award for the album of ‘Who Is the Lover?’.

The Mahoor Institute of Culture and Arts won the Barbad Award for Best Publisher.

The 36th FMF was held online, with participation of some international musicians, after cancelation of the in-person event in Tehran due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 36th edition of the FMF was held on February 16-21, 2021.
