The first trailer of the Iranian anticipated film ‘Melancholy’ directed by Morteza Atashzamzam has been published.
‘Melancholy’ is scheduled to hit Iranian local cinema theaters on June 17, 2017 at Tehran’s Azadi Cinema Complex.
Also produced and co-written by Morteza Atashzamzam, ‘Melancholy’ follows the story of Mina who finally becomes pregnant after a long history of medical difficulties and treatments. She, however, finds herself facing greater psychological problems afterwards.
The 2016 Iranian drama film features Iranian actors such as Leila Otadi, Mohammad-Reza Hedayati and Laleh Eskandari.
Describing the film, the director said 'Melancholy’ is not about what is real or not, but it is about the threshold between what is real and what is illusion, which varies according to the character’s point of view.
Born in 1977, Morteza Atashzamzam is an Iranian filmmaker and cinema producer.
In addition to ‘Melancholy’, Atashzamzam has directed a number of films, including ‘The Friend’ (2001), ‘A Sister in Lahore’ (2010), ‘The Last Report’ (2014), ‘Pinocchio’ (2014), and ‘Kualalampur' (2015).
