‘The Chick’ to vie at Hong Kong filmfest

Iranian short film ‘The Chick’ is slated to premiere at the Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF45).

In its first international screening, the flick will compete for the FIREBIRD AWARD.

The film by Bijan Arabi, which is to represent Iran at the competition section of the event, has unveiled first poster.

‘The Chick’ looks at the issue of immigration, love and self-sacrifice with a different perspective.

Arabi’s previous directorial experience ‘Larvae’ was screened at many international festivals in France, Spain, the UK, the US, Russia and Greece.

Founded in 1976, the HKIFF45 is Asia’s oldest international film festival and a pioneer in introducing Hong Kong, Chinese language and Asian cinema and filmmakers to the world.

The 45th edition of the HKIFF is slated for April 1-12, 2021.
