Mashhad home to Iran's 400 year-old art of masonry

The art of stone carving in the Iranian city of Mashhad in the capital of Khorasan Razavi province has created beautiful objects by combining different designs such as calligraphy, engraving, latticework, gilding, painting, and miniature.

The art of masonry is done with Serpentine stone, which is widely available in Khorasan Razavi province.

Due to its softness, the serpentine stone is formed in any way needed, and the main mine of this stone is located in the Kuhsangi area of ​​Mashhad up to the Binalood mountain range.

In addition to being used in Iran, masonry is also exported to Iraq and Central Asian countries.
