Ramsgate to screen ‘Sheep Will Devour Us’

The Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival in the UK has been set to screen Iranian short flick ‘Sheep Will Devour Us’.

The short film, co-directed by Mostafa Rostampour and Atefeh Rezaeean, will take part at the fifth edition of the Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival, according to the Iranian Youth Cinema Society.

‘Sheep Will Devour Us’ is about a woman named Tahereh, who is a victim of very early marriage.

Tahereh is trying hard to spare her younger sister such a fate.

The film took part in a number of global events, including the Minute Shorts film competition in the UK and the Itinerant Film Exhibition MX in Mexico.

It was also awarded at the 2020 Screen Power Film Festival in the UK.

The Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival is “a non-profit cultural organization where re diversity is just a matter of fact dedicated to use films as a vehicle to convey the love of cinema, from archive classics to modern essays with a variety of viewpoints and cultural exchanges”, the website of the event reads.

The festival aims to show new works and help promote filmmakers, it adds.

The 5th Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival will take place online on June 3-6.
