IRIB produces animated series on Persian poet Saadi’s ‘Bustan’

The IRIB’s Fars Channel produces animated series on tales of Persian poet Saadi’s ‘Bustan’.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) has produced an animated series narrating the tales of Saadi’s ‘Bustan’ (The Orchard).

Based on the tales of ‘Bustan’ by the 13th-century Persian poet Saadi, the series has been produced by IRIB’s Fars provincial channel.

Composed of 26 episodes in two seasons and titled ‘Travels of Saadi’, the series is unveiled on the occasion of the National Saadi Day in Iran. The country marks April 21 as the national day of Saadi.

Written by Abbas Karimi, the animated series has been directed by Alireza Maskouki and Saman Abdinejad.

Saadi (Abu-Muhammad Muslih al-Din bin Abdallah Shirazi) is one of the greatest figures in classical Persian literature. His most famous works worldwide are ‘Bustan’ and ‘Golestan’ (The Rose Garden).
