Japanese Short Shorts to screen Iranian 'White Clad’

Iranian ‘White Clad’ is to go on screen at the Short Shorts Film Festival in Japan.

Iranian short flick ‘White Clad’ has made its way to the Short Shorts Film Festival in Japan.

The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported that ‘White Clad’, written and directed by Reza Fahimi, will be screened at the Japanese festival next June.

The film is about an old woman who gives a block of local cheese she has made to Ahmad, a 10-year-old boy, in order to give it to his father, who is a teacher in the village, so the father can mediate and stop the execution of her young son.

The film’s participation in the Short Shorts marks its second international appearance as it took part in the 43rd Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France earlier this year.

The Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia has been accredited by the Academy Awards and is one of the largest international short film festivals in Asia, according to the website of the event.

The annual gala takes place in June. It has been running since 1999.
