Ammar Popular Film Festival, Cinéma vérité and the Resistance International Film Festival are among the most important Iranian events that concentrate of the issue of Palestine.
Iranian award-winning animated piece ‘Entr’acte’ by Mohammadreza Kheradmandan has grabbed many awards in international festivals.
Kheradmandan’s short animation is a narrative inspired by an Israeli sniper’s message posted on Instagram saying that he slaughtered 13 Palestinian children in a day during the 2014 Israel assault on the Gaza Strip.
‘The Survivor’, ‘The Lead’, ‘The Strangers’, ‘Hidden Fire’, ‘Saturday's Hunter’ and ‘33 Days’ are among prominent Iranian films that feature various aspects of the Palestinian crisis.
‘The Survivor’ tells the grim story of the occupation of the Palestinian city of Haifa by Zionist forces in 1948 and recounts how a loving grandmother does the unthinkable to save her only surviving grandchild from being raised by a Zionist couple.
‘The Lead’ focuses on Jewish couple who decides to immigrate to the so-called “Promised land of Israel”. But their application is rejected due to a relative’s alleged betrayal in Israel.
‘The Strangers’ is the story of a young Palestinian couple who is about to marry, however they lose each other for 40 years.
‘Hidden Fire’ puts light on the conflict between Israeli forces and Palestinian defenders.
‘Saturday's Hunter’, one of the most successful movies on the issue, shows the whole formation of the Zionists in the occupation of Palestine. The story of the film deals with the life of a child who has gone through different ethnic groups and learned something from each one.
The list goes on with ‘The Rule of the Game’, ‘7 Stones’, ‘Hiam’ and ‘Olive Wound’.
Also many international films, series and documentaries have so far been produced including Italian doc 'Samouni Road' directed by Stefano Savona, Palestinian documentary ‘Roshmia’ by Salim Abu Jabal, Palestinian series ‘Cluster’, Turkish movie ‘Valley of the Wolves: Palestine’, ‘Return to Haifa’ from Syria and Paletinian film ‘Omar’.
Iran has also launched various poster, photography and art exhibitions throughout the years to keep the voice of Palestine alive.
This Friday, May 7, 2021, will mark the International Quds Day which will be another occasion to remember the disaster, Palestinians are going through.
