Light of the World fest to screen ‘The Rotation’

Iranian short film ‘The Rotation’ is to participate at the Int'l Youth Film Festival "Light of the World” in Russia.

Iranian short film ‘The Rotation’ is set to participate at the International Youth Film Festival "Light of the World” in Russia.

The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported that Hazhir Asadi’s film will be screened at the 11th edition of "Light of the World”.

‘The Rotation’ is about two tribes who are engaged in a war due to a dispute over the possession of the sun in the sky.

The war led to the destruction of the sun and the eruption of a volcano.

The lava left the members of the two tribes dead and formed a new sun.

“Several centuries pass and the humans are still in a war to claim the sun in the sky,” a synopsis for the film reads.

Earlier reports said the Iranian documentary ‘Play Maker’ will also compete at the Russian festival. Hadis Janbozorgi’s film is about Shahnaz Abbasi, a former female football player, who played for the Malavan Bandar Anzali, a football club based in northern Iran.

Iranian short film ‘Before Darkness’ will also vie at Light of the World fest.

‘Before Darkness’ is about a woman who has crossed into Iran along with other Afghans as they want to illegally travel to Turkey. The woman, who is accompanied by her child, can’t take her child with her as she can’t afford the smuggling fees.

The "Light of the World” aims to promote traditional spiritual and moral values.

The 11th edition of the festival will take place on May 12-15.
