Corti a Ponte hosting Iranian short doc ‘SFUMATO’

Iranian short doc ‘SFUMATO’ is competing at the 2021 Corti a Ponte int’l short filmfest in Italy.

Iranian documentary ‘SFUMATO’ has been competing at the 2021 edition of the Corti a Ponte international short film festival in Italy.

Directed by Amir-Ali Mirderikvand, the short documentary is competing at the 14th edition of the Italian event.

‘SFUMATO’ narrates the story of a family who lives in a village. The oldest son of the family is of great support and tries to cover every need of his family. But the boy runs into trouble and faces obstacles.

The doc won the Best Documentary Film award and the Best Director award at the 2020 Ahmedabad International Children Film Festival in India as well as the best documentary award at the 6th Primo Piano Film Festival (Premio Fausto Rossano) in Italy.

It has also gone on screen at the French Riviera Motorcycle Film Festival in France, the Gbeck Future Film Festival in Canada, and the Taos Shortz Film Festival in the US.

The Corti a Ponte is an international festival of short films, “characterized by an approach devoted to education in film art and the active involvement of the public of all ages and social groups”, the event’s website reads.

The 14th edition of the event has been slated for May 10-22, 2021.

Iranian animation ‘Am I a Wolf?’ garnered the Best Animation Award at the 13th edition of the Italian filmfest.
