Iranian feature film ‘Amphibious’ is slated to have European premiere.

Iranian feature film ‘Amphibious’ is slated to have European premiere.

The movie directed by Borzou Niknejad, will vie at the 2021 edition of the Iranian Film Festival Zurich in Switzerland.

In this edition of the event, 12 feature and 17 short films will vie at the competition section.

The film is about Ata who lives with his father as well as two of his friends, Hamid and Mojtaba.

Their friendship is apparently strong, but the arrival of a specific person triggers surprising events.

“Hamid is an amphibious. If he doesn't go underwater, he will be crushed under the feet,” a synopsis of the film reads.

‘Amphibious’ is starring Pejman Jamshidi, Mohammad-Javad Ezzati, Hadi Hejazifar, and Setareh Pesyani.

The IFFZ aims to fill the cultural gap between Iranians and Swiss as well as the many foreigners living in Switzerland.

The event defines itself as “A Platform for presenting the Iranian culture and tradition and for building a bridge between different cultures by the means of the universal language of art and especially the 7th art, cinema”.

The 7th edition of the event will launch on May 27 – June 2, 2021.
