Fajr Int’l filmfest to host Tarkovsy’s ‘Ivan’s Childhood’

Tarkovsky’s ‘Ivan’s Childhood’ is to be screened at Fajr Int’l Film Festival in Iran.

Late Andrei Tarkovsky’s movie ‘Ivan’s Childhood’ is set to go on screen at the 2021 Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) in Iran.

The restored version of Russian filmmaker’s movie will be showcased at the Restored Classics section of the Iranian event’s 38th edition.

The 1962 movie that is based on a novel written by Vladimir Bogomolov narrates the story of a 12-year-old boy that operates as a spy during the Second World War.

The boy that has formed special bond with three soviet officers has their support in all his assignments. He easily crosses the enemy’s borders without being noticed.

This year, the FIFF will open in Tehran on May 26 and run until June 2.

The 2020 edition of the FIFF was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Since its establishment in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

The 39th edition of the national version of the festival was held on January 31-February 10.
